  • Parents as Career Coaches - visit and sign up for a Parents as Career Coaches workshop.  Find tools and resources for career planning.
  • Guide to Career Planning With Your Teenager - a resource to assist you in guiding your child's education and career decisions.
  • National Occupation Classification System (NOC) - is the authoritative resource on occupational information in Canada.  It is used daily by thousands of people to understand the jobs found throughout Canada's labour market.
  • Working in Canada - Answer your questions about jobs, skills, and the availability of workers in local areas across Canada.
  • CEED - Centre for Entrepreneurship Education & Development Inc. - an organization devoted to helping people discover and use entrepreneurship as a vehicle to become self-reliant.
  • Sector Councils for Nova Scotia - here you will find links to sector councils.  Some sector councils support industry youth programs.
  • Options and Opportunities (O2) - offers students a more hands-on learning experience.  It is designed to help them make successful transitions from high school to work, a career path, or a post-secondary program.
  • Education & Training - provides information on post-secondary education training options available.
  • Education Savings - The Government of Canada encourages parents, friends, and family to save to a child's education after high school by providing various savings programs, while also providing grants and bonds to help families and friends save for a child's education.
  • Workit - Nova Scotia's youth apprenticeship site.
  • Discover HRP - Spend a week as a police recruit with the Halifax Regional Police.  Ages 19 to 29.
  • Camp Courage - an empowering police, fire, paramedic program for young women aged 15 to 19.
  • Co-operative Education - High school graduation is not that far away.  Do you know what is next for your child?  Co-operative education helps students decide by giving them hands-on experience in the workplace.
  • Student Employment Program (SEP) - programs designed to assist employers in a variety of sectors by providing a wage rebate to encourage them to hire students.
